Bowen Technique

"The Bowen Technique is a straightforward no-nonsense remedial therapy that is non-intrusive, gentle and very effective".

Bowen Technique affects the body in ways which promote healing, pain relief, and recovery of energy.  The experience of Bowen is gentle, subtle and relaxing, and it's these features that make the treatment so unique.

Bowen is treated through light clothing, and the practitioner uses thumbs and fingers on precise points on the body to make rolling type moves which aim to disturb the muscles, soft tissue, and energy within the body.

During the treatment there are periods in which the client is left resting to allow the body to absorb the gentle moves that have been performed.  This gives the body time to make the subtle and fine adjustments which help to relieve tension, reduce pain and initiate the healing process.

Bowen can safely treat a number of bodily muscular and skeletal disorders, aches and pains, chronic fatigue, hayfever,  headaches, and also addresses many other conditions, some people even choose to use Bowen Technique as a means of stress management and health maintenance.

It is recommended that you try three consecutive treatments in order for the body and you to notice a change...

A little bit of history of The Bowen Technique

The Bowen Technique was born by a gentleman Thomas Ambrose Bowen, Australia, who developed this unique treatment in the 1950's and 60's.  He was not medically trained but was fascinated by peoples different postures, and had an amazing ability to 'read' a body, noting where there were blockages, or how this related to their ill health.

He did not teach his technique but allowed only a few therapist to observe him, one such therapist was Oswald Rentsch who spent many a year documenting the procedures, where it is world widely taught today.
